Do you accept insurance?
No, we don’t currently accept insurance, but we are happy to provide you with a receipt as an “out of network provider” that you can use to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Understanding why we don’t accept insurance is explained well in this article, saved from Psychology Today.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit card, cash, and check.
How do I get started?
Please give us a call (512-270-9014) or email. We would be happy to provide a free 20 minute consultation so that you can get to know us and we can determine which of us is the best fit for your therapy needs.
What kind of counseling is available?
We all provide mental health and relationship therapy to women, men, and couples with compassion and curiosity. Services are listed here, and each of us has a slightly different focus area, incorporating a variety of techniques & modalities depending on your specific goals and needs. Our combined experience includes, but is not limited to:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Narrative Therapy
- Trauma-Informed Counseling
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Person-Centered Therapy (PCT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Faith-Integrated Therapy
- Attachment-Based Therapy
If requested, we all are able to integrate Christian faith into the therapy; however, none of us imposes our faith on our clients, and are happy to work with people from different belief systems.
Do you work with men?
Yes, we work with men. We know that men often experience the same struggles as women with anxiety and depression and we would be happy to schedule a consultation to determine which one of us would be an appropriate fit as a therapist. We are glad to provide referrals if one of us is not the best therapist for you.
How long does a session last, and how many sessions should I expect to have?
The first session is typically 80 minutes and involves a thorough intake where we get a chance to understand who you are and what you are hoping to change. Future sessions are 50-100 minutes and the rates are adjusted accordingly.
The number of sessions needed to complete goals varies based on your unique needs. Some people reach their goals in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term counseling. Typically, you would start with weekly or biweekly sessions and adjust as need. You are always in control and may end therapy at any time.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, in addition to in-person sessions, we offer teletherapy, as long as you’re able to create a private and protected space in your home, office, or another location.
