Ellie Stackhouse, M.Ed., LPC-A

Ellie is supervised by Becca Coley, MA, LPC-S

From Ellie | Current Practice:

As a counselor, my hope is to create a space where in the face of deep hurts, discontentment, big questions, or a desire for change, you can feel seen, heard, and known. I focus on work with adolescents, college students, and young adults experiencing life transitions, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, relationship struggles, and spiritual issues or who have a desire to further explore questions of identity and purpose. I see counseling as a place where you can share your story, where you can strengthen and discover both internal and external resources, and where you can experience change through a collaborative process.

Training:

I attended Texas Christian University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program to obtain my Masters and graduated in 2022. While at TCU I gained experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in the school, agency, and community counseling clinic settings. In these settings I worked with clients individually and in groups navigating their experiences with anxiety, depression, anger, grief, problematic school behavior, and chronic illness. I also completed my Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary in 2023.

Background:

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After college I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to work with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF). In my role with RUF I gained insight into the unique environment college creates for both stress and growth. It was in my work as an intern and campus staff that I sensed a calling to pursue a career in counseling, reinforcing the role I had in ministry to walk alongside and support flourishing in others.

I moved to Austin in the winter of 2023 and I am excited about participating in the life and ministry of my church, talking about whatever movie I saw most recently at the Austin Film Society cinema, and running at Town Lake.
